Netherlands Visa Appointments in Dublin: VFS Guide

Book a Netherlands tourist visa appointment through VFS Dublin. Find the official route, document checklist and options when no suitable date is available.

By STRATALast checked:

If you live in Ireland and need a visa for a tourist trip to the Netherlands, the official application route is VFS Global in Dublin. Start with NetherlandsWorldwide’s Ireland instructions, then follow its appointment link. Book a separate appointment for each applicant, including children.

Before booking, check that you should apply through the Netherlands

For an ordinary holiday covering several Schengen countries, the European Commission’s guidance directs applicants to the country of the longest stay; for equal stays, the first country visited. You generally apply through the consulate responsible for your country of legal residence.

List your planned overnight stays before choosing a country in the portal. If Amsterdam is a short stop before a longer holiday elsewhere, check which country should handle your application. Do not choose the Netherlands solely because you connect there or find an appointment.

Check the official visa-requirement guidance for your nationality and residence documents. If you are travelling with or joining an EU, EEA or Swiss family member, follow the family-member guidance linked from NetherlandsWorldwide before preparing an ordinary tourism application. Requirements can differ between Irish residence-card holders.

Follow the official VFS booking route

NetherlandsWorldwide says to gather the required documents before making the appointment.

Follow these steps:

  1. Open the official Ireland instructions linked above and follow “Make an appointment online at VFS Global in Dublin.”
  2. Check that the country you are applying from is Ireland and the destination is the Netherlands. Choose the category that matches your trip.
  3. Follow the current account and appointment prompts. Before submitting a booking, check the applicant’s details against their passport and confirm the centre, date and time.
  4. Save the booking confirmation and any attendance instructions. Add the appointment to your calendar once the booking is confirmed.
  5. For a group, list each traveller and check that everyone has their own booking.

Find the address through the Dublin centre link in the official Ireland instructions and compare it with your confirmation before travelling. You will attend VFS, not the Dutch Embassy.

Portal screens may change. We have not checked appointment availability inside a logged-in account.

NetherlandsWorldwide also requires personal attendance, including for applicants under 18. Follow its VFS contact link if you need to change or cancel an appointment.

Prepare your tourist visa documents

Open the VFS Netherlands–Ireland visa information page and select Tourism. It links the current tourism checklist and online application form. Complete your own online form, then print and sign it; the online process produces a unique code. Do not reuse another applicant’s form.

When we reviewed the page on 9 October 2026, it linked to Tourist-nov-2025.pdf. Its requirements include identity and residence evidence, accommodation, financial and employment or other ties, travel plans and medical insurance. Submitted copies must be in colour. It says a paid transport ticket is not required. Read the full checklist for validity periods, required originals and copies, and rules for children.

Use this summary alongside the full checklist. The final column offers practical tips, not extra visa requirements.

Scroll the table horizontally or focus it and use the arrow keys to read all columns.

Check the current checklist again before attending. If a booking changes, update every affected document so your dates still match.

What to do if no appointment suits your trip

Check that the portal shows Ireland to the Netherlands and the right category. Is the calendar empty, or is there an error or unfinished booking? If you need support, note the exact error and time. Keep passwords and full passport details out of screenshots.

Return through the official link and follow the portal’s current instructions. We have not verified a fixed release hour or a Dublin tourism waiting-list procedure. Weekly appointment information for Dutch passport services should not be applied to Schengen visas.

If the available date is too late, check whether you can change your trip. Note when reservations become non-refundable and which documents you would need to update. Only choose a date you can attend with your documents ready.

Check the submission window and processing time

The official Ireland instructions allow tourism applications up to six months before the trip and require applying at least 15 days before travel. These are application-submission limits, not a calendar release schedule. Leave additional time for finding an appointment, processing and passport return; the minimum does not guarantee a decision before departure.

Your appointment is for submitting the application; the visa decision comes later. Check NetherlandsWorldwide’s current processing-time notice before planning travel. Its processing clock starts when the Consular Services Organization receives the required documents and passport. Further examination or missing documents can lengthen the wait.

On 9 October 2026, the ministry listed an average of 18–21 calendar days for Schengen visas; the VFS tourism page listed 21 days. These figures overlap, but neither is a deadline for your application. Check the ministry’s current notice. Appointment searching and passport return take additional time.

Plan for three stages: submitting your application, waiting for a decision and getting your passport back.

Can I arrange appointments for my whole family?

You can arrange your family’s applications together, but the official Ireland instructions require a separate appointment for each person, including children. Check every traveller’s confirmation and prepare a separate application file. If arranging separate appointments is difficult, ask VFS about the current options.
